It’s been a couple weeks since we have posted and that’s because we’ve been working on a secret cool thing, that you are sure to hear about soon. But more on that at a later date
. I did manage to squeeze in some painting in between working on the “other stuff”. But since I never sat down and painted for any extended period of time, I ended up trashing two works in progress. I started over because when I finally did get back to them I was bored with them and unsatisfied with the way they were shaping up since the last time I worked on them. But finally I pushed one though and what we have here is the end result. I’m fairly pleased with it. Card number 9 I think…
FYI It may be a bit before we post again due to the “secret stuff” but we hope when it’s said and done that the end result will be worth it.
Peace Out
Doc

Here is the newest card, completed yesterday. I spent almost as much time on the background of this one as I did the character so below I’m inserting a version without the character. The armor on this guy was a lot of fun to do. I wanted it to look as if it didn’t quite fit him. Perhaps he came about it in some shady manner. The gold eagle on his arm reflecting some form of royalty or high standing and his face betraying that fact that he is neither. He guards a gate to some secret hideout of whatever clan or guild he may be a part of and looks at you as if to say “you better turn back now.”

BitCaper Designs finished it’s first website and we are now an official web design studio. You can check out the site at www.brunospantry.com. In their own words Bruno’s is:
“Bruno’s Pro Bone O Pet Pantry is dedicated to providing free pet food for the dogs and cats of low-income, elderly and disabled people. We are able to accomplish this goal by solicitating and collecting pet food through a network of agencies, programs and the generosity of the community we serve. It is our mission to ensure that pets are not forgotten or abandoned during financial hardship and can remain in their home and with their family thereby improving the quality of life for both pets and their owners.”
Go check them out to see BitCaper’s site design, and visit their donate page if you want to give to their cause.

For the last week I have been working on some card art that featured a Dwarf. Everything seemed to be going well until I thought I was almost finished with it and stepped back to take a look. What I saw was a mess, I then spent the next few days trying to “fix” it. However, I only became more displeased with the piece and was becoming more and more fatigued with painting it. So yesterday I decided to let that piece simmer for awhile in what will most likely be a black hole of never finished artwork. I cleared my canvas, started afresh and voila I finished this piece in about a day. The majority of the time spent painting this piece went into the character. Below you can see the progression I took.

Welcome to the launch of our blog… It’s not much right now but that’s only because we haven’t had a chance to implement our word press theme since we have been busy making cool stuff for you. OK, so not all of it was for you, some of it was for our clients via our new venture, BitCaper Designs. BitCaper Designs is a web development division that we have implemented to help fund our other aspirations. You can check it out here.
So what have we been up to? Besides starting a side venture, we have some games in the works. The first one we have in the pipeline is an online trading card game. This is the one that has been keeping me busy in between designing websites. Our first set of cards will have 75 unique cards each with their own artwork. Yeah that’s a lot of painting on my end and the task that gave rise to this blog. I’ll be using this blog as an outlet to share the artwork with all of you as I do them. So stay tuned for constant blogs as I am going to try and post as often as possible with my progress throughout each piece. I’ve already finished a few that you can see below…

We have not forgotten about the iPhone either, which is home to our first game Block Knights. Our love hate relationship with the Apple App Store will continue, so keep an eye out for news about those ventures as well.
Well that’s our first post! Stay tuned for much, much more.
Peace Out
Doc – AKA, Jon W.
